Summary:

This position functions as a member of the administrative team by performing a variety of secretarial duties to ensure the smooth day-to-day operations of the physician's office. The Administrative Assistant is responsible for performing diversified and confidential secretarial and administrative functions

Responsibilities:
• Works closely with Physician, staff and office manager accomplish the goals and objectives of their department.
• Performs all clerical and secretarial services including typing, photocopying and mail sorting.
• Maintain departmental files and ensure confidentiality of those files.
• Triage and respond to phone calls, voicemails and emails.
• Coordinate and order office supplies.
• Establish and maintain departmental databases and prepare reports.
• Assist in special projects as requested.
• Attend meetings as requested.
• Perform other duties as requested.
• Schedules outpatient procedures and applicable testing for patients as directed.
• Types correspondence, forms and other documents are requested.
• Enters information into the computer system. Transcribes dictation of a highly confidential nature.
• Perform other duties as requested.


Qualifications:
• High school diploma required, Associates Degree preferred.
• Two to Five years of Administrative support experience preferably in a health care setting.
• Medical terminology preferred.
• Word-processing and computer data entry experience preferred..
• Strong communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal and telephone skills required.
• Experience with organization of medical charts preferred.
• Ability to analyze operational issues and solve them creatively.
