Licensed Vocational Nurse / Medical Assistant (SMMC)

Steward Medical Group (SMG), Inc. is Steward's multi-specialty group practice with over 4,500 employees including over 1,800 physicians and advanced practitioners. SMG operates approximately 450 practice locations throughout Massachusetts, Southern New Hampshire, Rhode Island, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Florida, Utah, Arizona, Texas, Louisiana and Arkansas, and provides more than 4 million patient encounters per year.
Under the direction of the Practice Administrator, and the general supervision of the Office Manager, the Licensed Vocational Nurse is responsible for performing direct patient care activities and working in an interdisciplinary team. Performs delegated functions and appropriate nursing interventions in concert with the attending physician. Communicates with physicians and team members about changes in patient’s clinical condition including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology. Able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment. The LVN maintains accountability for his/her own nursing knowledge and skills in accordance with policy and procedure and the philosophy, objectives, and goals of the practice.
A. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or Medical Assistant Program
B. Current Licensure in Texas as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (required) or Certified Medical Assistant (preferred)
C. Previous experience in a Family Practice or General Medical Clinic preferred
D. Current BLS/CPR or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment
