Steward Medical Group is currently seeking an experienced per diem Nurse Practitioner to join our expanding psychiatry department at Morton Hospital in Taunton, MA. The Nurse Practitioner will collaborate with SMG, hospital clinical and administrative leadership and professional organizations to facilitate the development of the psychiatry department and will participate in meetings as appropriate to assure effective communication. Candidate will provide outpatient and inpatient clinical evaluations and follow ups. Candidate will adhere to practice prescriptive guidelines and collaborate with supervising MD. Candidate will complete other tasks as requested by the supervising MD.

Qualifications:

  • Two to five years of NP experience in Psychiatry preferred
  • Current Federal DEA and Massachusetts Controlled Substance registrations
  • Current Massachusetts license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner is required
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with psychiatry pre-op clearances and eating disorders a plus
  • Demonstrate clinical expertise for functioning in an independent role
  • Excellent interpersonal relationships and communication skills for working with patients, families, and other staff
  • Ability to collaborate and effectively communicate with physicians and other health care professionals and support staff
  • Ability to be self-directed and demonstrate initiative in addressing responsibilities of the position
  • Ability to complete forms and other paperwork appropriately in a timely manner
