Steward Medical Group (SMG), Inc. is Steward's multi-specialty group practice with over 4,500 employees including over 1,800 physicians and advanced practitioners. SMG operates approximately 450 practice locations throughout Massachusetts, Southern New Hampshire, Rhode Island, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Florida, Utah, Arizona, Texas, Louisiana and Arkansas, and provides more than 4 million patient encounters per year.
The Department of Neurosurgery at Steward is seeking a full-time, licensed Physician Assistant to provide clinical care as well as administrative leadership to our growing program.
The Physician Assistant's on service will work regular scheduled day shifts with no nights, no weekends, no call and no holidays.
The role may include:

a) Support admission to care: Perform comprehensive and problem-focused histories and physical examinations; perform appropriate laboratory and diagnostic studies.
b) Support inpatient care: perform minor procedures on the unit; conduct daily hospital rounds; evaluate post-operative patients; handle discharge planning for patients on service.
c) Provides patient services under direct supervision and responsibility of Physician and or Department Chair.
d) Facilitate patient referral to the appropriate physician or agency; and conduct follow-up visits on patients.
a) First assist in operating room for both spine and cranial cases.

a) Office Duties: Returning phone calls from patients, handling prescription refills and EMR management support.
b) Working in clinic with attending physician, working towards autonomy to develop PA run clinic for post-operative patients.

· Graduate of NCCPA approved Physician Assistant Program
· Massachusetts Physician Assistant License
· New Graduates Welcome, Neurosurgery Experience Preferred
· NCCPA Board Certified or Board Eligible
· BLS Certified
