Job Description

The Practice Manager will oversees the daily operations of the medical practice(s). Trouble shoots problems and develops recommendations for resolution. Serves as the overall business manager and liaison to the physicians at the direction of the Practice Administrator. Provides direct and indirect patient care, supervises non-licensed personnel as assigned in the practice setting. Communicates with physicians and co-workers, as appropriate about changes in patient’s clinical condition including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology. Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment.

Monitors staff performance and facilitates effective teamwork. Contributes to the team concept and maintains a positive working relationship, both within the department and with other departments, assisting when a need is observed or requested, and offers constructive suggestions for improvement.

Coordinates hiring, performance counseling, and staffing with Practice Administrator and Human Resources. Responsible for onboarding and initial training of new hires. Assists in evaluations of staff members.

Provides on going training and resources for clinic staff to address specific needs. Is able to manage and operate equipment safely and correctly.

Prepares and analyzes financial and practice activity reports as requested.

Performs, supervises, coordinates and monitors the work activity related to self-pay collections and payment posting.

Coordinates with Materials Management for equipment and supply purchases.

Edits and reviews payroll records for accurate and timely payroll processing.

Performs administrative duties to ensure the efficiency of the office practice(s).

Identifies, establishes, and evaluates compliance with the office practice(s). Demonstrates knowledge and application of infection control policies and procedures supporting standards of care.

Ensures staff has access to updated list of insurance plans for each physician office.

Monitors time off requests from staff ensuring proper coverage for the practice.

Reviews scheduling templates of each physician to ensure efficient use of physician’s time and productivity.

Demonstrates the use of critical thinking skills and problem solving abilities in coordinating and supervising patient care.

Evaluates staffing requirements for practice volumes and productivity.
