Description
The role of the Radiology Technologist is to provide outstanding support to physicians and healthcare providers while providing exceptional care to patients and customers within the clinical scope a Radiologic Technologist. The Lead Radiology Technologist is responsible for overseeing six busy orthopedic clinics radiology services and seasonal oversight of Solitude clinic.
Key Responsibilities
- Performs high quality radiographic images for orthopedic surgery service line under a variety of conditions for patients ranging from pediatric to geriatric demographics
- Adhere to ALARA standards and ensure patient safety and radiation protection
- Create protocol lists for each practice
- Ensure competency of radiologic technologists
- Lead Technologist will assist in hiring and disciplinary action under the direction of the clinic leadership
- Incumbent will create and manage education materials and on boarding for employees
- Under the direction of the clinic managers, oversee scheduling and staffing for all locations
- The incumbent will ensure radiologic equipment is functional and manage PM’s and other scheduled maintenance
- Keeps patients informed of wait times and manages visit expectations
- Administers casting and bracing as required by the healthcare provider
- Communicates patient concerns and needs to the healthcare provider
- Responsible for management of medical supplies and durable medical equipment, annual supply inventory and asset management, training and education
- Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
- This position requires verifiable successful completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program
- Current Utah State Radiologic Technology license is required
- Demonstrated computer skills with data entry software
- Must be able to flex schedule in accordance with patient and provider schedules
Preferred Qualifications:
- Five or more years of Radiology Technologist experience
- Two or more years’ experience in orthopedic radiology
- Leadership experience preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Work up to a 12 hour shift
- Sit up to 6-8 hours a day
- Stand and walk up to 4-6 hours a day
- Speak and listen to internal and external customers
- Bend to reach supplies/materials, reach with hands and arms throughout the day
- Lifting, pushing, pulling
- Grasp and manipulate tools
- Key information into a computer workstation, use computer peripheral tools
